What’s the poster promoting? Introduction to poster

Girl rising is a campaign movement to help girls and women all around the world who are deprived of an education and to help girls and women rise against all obstacles and things and subject matters that exclude them and prevent them from being free and have autonomy over their own lives. It is a movement that focuses on girls all around the world who suffer horrendous treatment, deprivation and persecution, just because they are simply girls.

Layout

The image presented before us is of a girl standing on top of a high building staring toward the atmosphere of her soundings. The significance of this image and where the girl has been placed in the photo is truly inspiring. She has been placed next to the typography ’Girl rising’ and can see her whole surroundings.

The hair ribbon tied with in the girls hair represents her innocence and demure caricature but also mirrors the writing …

The structure of the ribbon is also interesting to analyse as the ribbon slithers through the girl’s hair …

The flower patterns on the child's dress is also very significant. Flowers, as they are stereotyped with girls and femininity, it also brings this idea of blossoming, not just biology ,but mentally, when girls have the capacity to believe that they are great within it allows to them blossom in every way, mentally ,socially and gives them confidence to walk in this life as champions of themselves . Flowers are also associated with death, when something or someone dies we usually give flowers a sign of love, but in this context, the flowers are that there is a new life being and being born, women are dyeing and moving away from the ideology that once patronised them, but are moving forward to express that there is a new women in creation and that a new generation of girls is rising.

Typography

The font has been decorated and formed very simplistically using basic capitals and normal to bold font writing. This simplicity is highly effective as it keeps the message strong and simple in that there is only one thing that must happen, that girls must rise. It also allows the attention to focus on the risen girl in the photo, her looking in the instance, looking at her hopes and dreams, looking at the world around her and seeing that she is truly free. This is also evident with in the decoration of the writing as we see at the top of the typography, there are birds flying outward of the word ’rising’ enhancing the ideology of freedom and rising towards all opportunists, dreams but also that should be free like birds ,flying in the knowledge that they are the future.

The colour scheme of the font red …red in this context is used to as a colour of freedom, pain, suffering and a new life. justice that girls suffer is shown through red as red is a colour that is also reminiscent of the red rose plant that women are usually associated with, the idea of menstruation, purity, beauty and femininity all topics that girls suffer the injustices and burdens of, a society that burdens girls and women about their biology, autonomy and repression against there so called inferior position in society.

The artistic placing of the birds has been engineer very cleverly as the birds are seen rising from the letter in which suggest that the letter n is short for ‘now’ girls must be free and being to fly now ,the concept that girls 

Letter form

Analysing the letter construction, the capital letters emphasis allow s us to witness the intensity of the subject of girls rising, the  letters  being enlarged ,we can also connote that girls must become bigger and better, be proud of their abilities and capability’s.

Colours presented [used] in the poster is very simple but hugly significant to the topics that the campaign challenges for example,fgm [female genital mutalion]

The pace of the video streams at a face pace during the beginning of the videos duration, to emphasis the pace of how these girls work, girls who have no opportunity or privilege of an education are expected to work.

The pace of the video may also be significant of what is remnant in their life,

As the people work in the video building ,cleaning and fixing ,who will ficx and build these girls lives ,who will clear the waste of time and waste of potential, as the workers  clean away the rubbish and wastes around them, the question remains that who will clean the stains left from a girl who is neglected and uneducated.

The videos cuts show us the reality of life in places that are unfortunalty dilaped and full of destitution,high poverty rates and lack of ioppourites.with each cut ,the video allows us,the audience , to travel through the…
